Should I call to make an appointment before coming in?

Walk-ins are always welcome at Tarzana Medical Urgent Care. Calling us before your visit is helpful as our staff can prepare your paperwork and set up a room for you.

What is the usual wait time at Tarzana Medical Urgent Care?

Wait times are generally very short. Unlike an ER, where wait times can be 4 hours or more, Tarzana Medical Urgent Care will typically see a patient within 30 minutes of their check-in. Many times the wait time is even shorter than 30 minutes.

Is it more expensive to visit an Urgent Care Center rather than an Emergency Room?

Urgent care centers are generally considerably less expensive to visit than ER's. Sometimes an urgent care visit can be a quarter to a third as expensive as your hospital's emergency room.

When should I visit my primary care physician and when should I visit an urgent care center?

Tarzana Medical Urgent Care is set up as an urgent care clinic and a primary care clinic for ongoing care. If you have a primary care physician that you like, Tarzana Medical Urgent Care is an excellent option for your medical needs during those times when you cannot get into your primary M.D. in a timely manner, or when the primary care physician's office is not open, such as after hours, weekends and holidays.

What if I need to see a specialist?

If a Tarzana Medical Urgent Care physician recommends a specialist consultation, such as an orthopedic surgeon, our staff will assist you in making an appointment with that physician. To give the medical specialist all the information needed to make an informed decision, your urgent care doctor will provide you with a copy of your tests results, including a CD copy of your x-rays (if applicable).

What information should I bring with me when I come to your urgent care clinic?

All first time patients need to bring an up-to-date medical insurance card and a government issued photo ID. Its is helpful to your urgent care doctor if you can bring copies of any pertinent prior lab work or imaging studies. If you take medicines, please also be prepared to discuss the exact names and dosages of the medicines that you are taking.

Do I need to pay with cash?

We work with almost all major PPO insurances and we also accept all major credit cards or cash. You may be responsible for an insurance co-pay, which you can pay with cash or credit card.

What types of insurance do you accept?
